As is the case with any successful film, fans have been clamouring for Galitzine and Zakhar-Perez to return as our new favourite queer couple. Read ahead for everything we know (so far) about\u00a0Red, White &amp; Royal Blue 2.<\/p>\n<p>Has it been confirmed?<\/p>\n<p>Yes! Halleujah! After months of edging fans,\u00a0a sequel was confirmed on 9 May at a special screening for the OG film in Culver City, Calif, which was\u00a0attended by Galitzine, Zakhar Perez, Thurman, Sarah Shahi, Clifton Collins Jr. and Rachel Hilson.<\/p>\n<p>Director\u00a0Matthew Lopez\u00a0and McQuiston were also there to share the news. Lopez has been confirmed to return as director, while he will team up with McQuiston on the script. The news elicited various normal human responses from fans (and me): screaming, crying, throwing up, all of that.<\/p>\n<p>A teaser poster was also released to commemorate the news. Alex is also pursuing a law degree and Henry is continuing to slay his philanthropic endeavours, while preemptively abdicating his place in the British line of succession. (Lots of plot points here!)<\/p>\n<p>When we spoke to Lopez, he said \u201ceveryone in the hair and makeup department\u201d for the film pitched their ideas for a follow-up, from \u201cRed, White &amp; Royal Wedding\u201d to \u201cRed, White &amp; Royal Baby\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Lopez additionally told\u00a0Teen Vogue\u00a0that he would do a sequel \u201cif we have the right story\u201d, so with the sequel actually confirmed, we can safely assume that \u2013 in his words \u2013 it will be \u201ccompelling\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>McQuiston sent fans into a bit of a frenzy\u00a0when they revealed unknown details about the novel in a\u00a0Thread\u00a0post, hinting at some kind of future on-screen storyline in the process. It originated from the fan question: \u201cDo you think Henry proposed or Alex?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCannot answer this one just in case it ends up being a spoiler one day,\u201d responded McQuiston, indicating that details of their wedding will soon be told. Again, very important.<\/p>\n<p>Another fun fact: Alex and Henry would appear as a guest judge on\u00a0<em>RuPaul\u2019s Drag Race<\/em>\u00a0\u201cin a second if asked\u201d and their favourite winners are Bob the Drag Queen and Sasha Velour, respectively.<\/p>\n<p>With all this in mind, the sequel would need to show Alex singing \u2018Enchanted\u2019 to Henry and both characters critiquing queens on the\u00a0<em>Drag Race<\/em>\u00a0panel. It\u2019s not known whether additional stars such as Thurman, Collins Jr., Shahi, Hilson, Stephen Fry or Ellie Bamber, will return, but\u2026 it! is! happening! A sequel is coming!
