Red, White & Royal Blue star Taylor Zakhar Perez teases potential sequel<\/h1>\n

Taylor Zakhar Perez has shared his thoughts on a potential\u00a0Red, White & Royal Blue\u00a0sequel.<\/p>\n

Back in August 2023, LGBTQIA+ movie enthusiasts were finally treated to the highly anticipated film adaptation of Casey McQuiston\u2019s acclaimed novel.<\/p>\n

Directed by Matthew Lopez, the Prime Video feature follows the passionate enemies-to-lovers romance between Alex (Zakhar Perez), the son of America\u2019s first female president (Uma Thurman), and Henry (Nicholas Galitzine), a British prince.<\/p>\n

Upon its release, the film received universal acclaim for its faithfulness to the source material and the electric chemistry between Zakhar Perez and Galitzine.<\/p>\n

Alongside the aforementioned praises, fans have been clamouring for a sequel \u2013 with many expressing an interest in Alex and Henry\u2019s life after happily ever after.<\/p>\n

While Prime Video has yet to greenlit a second film, Zakhar Perez recently shared some of his ideas for the potential project with\u00a0Entertainment Weekly.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think we ended the film on pretty good terms with everything. So maybe them living in Brooklyn? You know it\u2019s closer, New York to London,\u201d he pitched while on the 2024 SAG Awards red carpet.<\/p>\n

\u201cMaybe Alex is starting his own campaigning? I don\u2019t know; I mean, I can only dream.\u201d<\/p>\n

In an additional interview with\u00a0Variety, Zakhar Perez gave further insight into the possibility of a\u00a0RWRB\u00a0sequel, and if Prime Video has contacted him about it.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s funny. People have been reaching out about it, and I have no idea. [They\u2019re] like \u2018We\u2019ve heard this, this and this\u2019 and I\u2019m like \u2018That\u2019s news to me,’\u201d he explained.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt just makes me laugh because, I mean, give me a call, you know, give me a call and let\u2019s talk about it.\u201d<\/p>\n

Zakhar Perez isn\u2019t the only one to express an interest in a sequel.<\/p>\n

Ahead of\u00a0RWRB\u2019s\u00a0August release, Lopez, told\u00a0GAY TIMES\u00a0that he would absolutely be open to directing another film.<\/p>\n

\u201cHere\u2019s what I\u2019ll say: if people like the movie, if it\u2019s successful and people want more, who am I to deny them?\u201d he revealed.<\/p>\n

However, he clarified: \u201cNot confirmed! That\u2019s not confirmation. Look, any movie that ever simply gets made is a miracle. It\u2019s greedy for a filmmaker two weeks before his movie comes out to start talking about a sequel.\u201d<\/p>\n

Toward the end of his statement, Lopez revealed that people in \u201cthe hair and makeup department\u201d have even pitched ideas for a sequel, ranging from \u201cRed, White & Royal Wedding\u201d to \u201cRed, White & Royal Baby\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was like, \u2018Can we just get through today first, please?’\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

Lastly, the author of the best-selling novel, McQuiston, told\u00a0Out\u00a0in November 2023\u00a0that they would \u201clove\u201d to continue Alex and Henry\u2019s in another project.<\/p>\n

\u201cI mean, like, of course, I would love to. I don\u2019t think I\u2019m allowed to say anything more than that at this point,\u201d they teased.<\/p>\n

Crossing our fingers Prime Video announces a sequel to\u00a0Red, White & Royal Blue\u00a0sooner rather than later.<\/p>\n
