Prime Video have finally issued an update (albeit a very\u00a0small\u00a0update) on the\u00a0Red, White & Royal Blue\u00a0sequel.<\/p>\n

In a recent interview with\u00a0Variety,\u00a0Amazon MGM Studios chief Jennifer Salke was questioned on the status of the follow-up, which was\u00a0officially confirmed earlier this year.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re really excited. We are into the second movie and can\u2019t wait,\u201d Salke said. \u201cThe creative is awesome.\u201d<\/p>\n

Red, White & Royal Blue,\u00a0released in July 2023, was met with critical acclaim and broke streaming records for Prime Video.<\/p>\n

Earlier this week,\u00a0the beloved rom-com was nominated for a Primetime Emmy Award for \u2018Outstanding Television Movie\u2019.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re so proud of the first film and getting the nomination. This morning, I was texting with [producers] Greg Berlanti and Sarah Schechter and Matt L\u00f3pez, who are all just so proud,\u201d continued Salke.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd we obviously love the movie, so we\u2019re committed to the follow-up and can\u2019t wait to get it out there in the world.\u201d<\/p>\n

Based on Casey McQuiston\u2019s acclaimed novel of the same name,\u00a0Red, White & Royal Blue\u00a0follows the romance between Alex (Taylor Zakhar Perez), the son of America\u2019s first female president (Uma Thurman), and Henry (Nicholas Galitzine), a British prince.<\/p>\n

The cast also includes Clifton Collins Jr., Sarah Shahi, Rachel Hilson, Stephen Fry, Ellie Bamber, Thomas Flynn, Malcolm Atobrah, Akshay Khanna, Sharon D Clarke, Aneesh Sheth and Juan Castano.<\/p>\n

At a special screening in May, director\u00a0Matthew Lopez announced that Zakhar Perez and Galitzine will reprise their iconic characters for \u201canother slice\u201d of queerified UK-US relations.<\/p>\n
