Why Kate and William Decided to Live Without Butlers and Chefs
The Welsh have lived in Adelaide Cottage for the past few years. As the latest news about Kate Middleton reported, they did not have a permanent staff in the house.
Previously, it was believed that the reason was that the mansion did not have enough rooms to accommodate the family and staff. So now that the Welsh are planning to move to the more spacious Fort Lodge, many have assumed that they will acquire employees. However, royal experts are sure that the family is giving up servants for personal reasons.
According to Katie Nicholl, William and Kate do all the housework themselves and always involve their children in it. They are confident that this will help them raise Louis, Charlotte and George well and “keep them grounded.”
“They are much more ordinary people than many people might imagine – the children even have to do housework in exchange for pocket money. It’s about them wanting to have a normal, happy, ordinary family home and lifestyle,” the expert noted

Nicholl is not the only one to confirm that the Welsh couple are on principle against having staff. An insider told The Mirror that the couple are deliberately “not having live-in staff”.
“I think people would be surprised to see how routine things are at home. The kids help set the table, clear the plates when they’re done eating, and help with cleaning. There’s no preferential treatment,” the source explained.
According to royal expert Duncan Larcombe, William and Kate are largely following the same parenting rules that have always been in place in the Middleton family.
“It’s a small family unit of three children, just like with Kate and her siblings. They don’t live in luxury, but they live very comfortably,” he said

Although the Welsh family’s new home, Fort Lodge, will be much larger than Adelaide Cottage, the latest news about Kate Middleton claims that the family will stick to their guns and not employ permanent staff. However, Maria Turrion Borrallo, Louis, Charlotte and George’s nanny, and the family’s housekeeper, will likely live in specially designated cottages near the estate.
